At weddings, it’s a well-known rule not to wear white unless you are the bride. However, some guests were shocked when a bride’s sister-in-law attended in a white, lacey gown with a train. A photo of her with the groom was shared on Reddit, sparking criticism for her “faux pas.”
The Reddit post’s caption read, “This girl looked absolutely gorgeous… but she is NOT the bride. You had one job…” Many were surprised by her bridal-like attire, with one user commenting, “You can not tell me she didn’t buy that at a wedding dress shop! That is a full-on wedding dress.” Another said, “If someone showed up in this to my wedding they’d be kicked out immediately.”
One person shared a similar experience: “My MIL wore a custom made white gown to my wedding… She said the only color that looks good on her is white.”
Some suggested that the dress might have been planned with the bride’s approval, noting that matching dresses at weddings are becoming trendy. Nonetheless, the sister-in-law’s dress has divided opinions.
